Join us for special off-ice events at the 2019 GEICO U.S. Figure Skating Championships. Attend the U.S. Hall of Fame Reception and mingle with the newly minted members of the Class of 2019. Come to the Memorial Fund Reception and participate in a Q&A with past recipients and local champions like Alissa Czisny and Jeremy Abbott.

Sk8 to Elimin8 Cancer™

Wednesday Jan. 23, 5-7 p.m.
The U.S. Figure Skating Championships presents unique opportunities for U.S. Figure Skating national partners, Scott Hamilton CARES Foundation to make an impact on the Detroit community. The Foundation will be hosting Sk8 to Elimin8 Cancer Detroit, Michigan, a 1.5 hour on-ice Celebration Ice show with local and professional skating talent, free and open to public spectators and media. Local U.S. Figure Skating members will be raising money for the foundation to also be able to participate in the opening number in the show. A “Skate with the Stars” public session will be open to public participation following the show. More information to come!

Memorial Fund Reception

For tickets to the 2019 Memorial Fund Reception, click HERE. Join the Memorial Fund committee to celebrate past recipients and local champions Alissa Czisny and Jeremy Abbott. Enjoy coffee and sweets and a Q&A session with Alissa and Jeremy. All proceeds benefit the U.S. Figure Skating Memorial Fund, which will distribute more than half a million dollars to skaters this year.

Friends of Figure Skating Brunch

Are you a Friend of Figure Skating? If not, join HERE to support Team USA athletes and help them train harder, receive top-notch nutrition and recover more quickly. This event is open to all Friends of Figure Skating members. Enjoy brunch with Team USA athletes and get a photo with your favorite skater!


Learn to Skate USA SkateFest presented by Toyota

When: Sunday, January 6 from 10:30 a.m. – Noon

Toyota and Learn to Skate USA are joining together to bring SkateFest to Campus Martius Ice Rink in Detroit! Free and open to the public, SkateFest provides the opportunity for skaters of all ages to participate in free group lessons based on their experience levels. Free skating lessons will take place from 10-11:30 a.m., and rental skates are available at no charge. On-site registration will begin at 9:45 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 6. Advance registration will open on Dec. 30. Space is limited.
