Get Up® Detroit

U.S. Figure Skating Presents Get Up® Detroit

We all fall. It’s how we Get Up® that matters.

Getting up is something you do in the rink and out in the world. Every time you go to practice. Every time you fight for something you believe in. Every time you stumble and find your balance you are reminded that life is slippery.

But you Get Up®.

In October of 2016, U.S. Figure Skating launched the Get Up Campaign to be an inspiring reminder to skaters and non-skaters that the sport of figure skating is one the requires perseverance, grit and a #WeGetUp attitude.

In celebration of the 2019 GEICO U.S. Figure Skating Championships in Detroit, we will recognize the incredible individuals and companies in Detroit and its surrounding communities by telling their stories.

We encourage our members in Detroit and throughout Michigan to share their Get Up® moments, whether connected to the sport of figure skating or not, with us by emailing their stories, pictures and videos to Several stories will be featured on, in publications and recognized in-venue during the U.S. Championships. Stories may also be submitted on behalf of friends and family.

We will also be recognizing organizations in Detroit that embody the Get Up® spirit. Select organizations will be recognized at the U.S. Championships and on as an Organization We Admire.

We hope our members will join the movement and become Get Up® ambassadors. Please take the lead and share our message with family and friends!
